Ignacio

Hi! My name is Ignacio and I am 18 years old. I have a very multicultural background since I have lived in France, England and Spain, and I am fluent in all of the respective languages. Although I have benefited from a french education and lived in Spain for the majority of my life, I have always wanted to continue my studies in an english speaking country. I am currently studying Philosophy Politics and Economics (PPE) at the University of Durham, it has been an amazing experience so far! I love the research part of my course because it allows me to meet my curiosity needs and expand my general knowledge. Even though I am very involved in my academic course, I also love playing sports, in fact I am a member of the durham university football team. I hope this has allowed you to know me a little bit better!

Tutoring Experience

I come from a large family where I am one of the oldest out of my sixteen cousins. From a young age I have been in charge of teaching my non french speaking cousins the language, while helping them exceed in the subject at school. I have accompanied them troughout their education and taught them all the basics of the language. As for spanish, by the age of fifteen, I began teaching some family friends back in France.

Tutoring Approach

The teaching approach used will obviously depend on the level and the skills of each kid. However, I usually start by going through all the basics of grammar, orthography, vocabulary, pronunciation. In the case the student has a satisfying level of french or spanish, I will dedicate twenty minutes at the end of each lesson to discuss. This will obviously help his listening and speaking skills. Another possibility would be going over the student's homework and help him understand every detail. It is crucial for the student to understand all the basics to really improve in the language before moving into something more complicated.
