Isabella

Hi, I am Isabella and I am 20 years old. I am from North London and am currently attending the University of Manchester studying Biomedical Science. I completed my GCSEs at Parliament Hill Secondary School, and then went on to Woodhouse College for my A-Levels. I obtained my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and History. I have also got a Foundation Degree qualification in Biosciences, which included Biology, Chemistry, and the equivalent of an Applied Mathematics A-Level. Due to multiple previous work within the childcare industry, I have a full DBS. I am very passionate about helping to build not only the children's understanding, but also their confidence in their subjects.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored multiple students before, ranging from primary school up to GCSE level. My expertise lie in science and maths (particularly in biology and chemistry). My previous students have included a wide range of starting abilities and have all seen improvements. I have also worked within the childcare industry for 3 years, working with 6-18 year olds.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that every tutoring experience should be tailored and adapted to the tutee, in order to maximise both their learning experience and their confidence in the subject at hand. I do try to put some emphasis on practice questions, as I find it to be one of the most effective techniques for learning and revising. This is because making your skills applicable is the true test to see whether the topics have been fully understood. Moreover, I believe that a large aspect of improvement in subjects is confidence, which is why I aim to always build up the student's self-belief.
