Isla

Hi my name is Isla and I am currently in my second year studying veterinary medicine at The Royal Veterinary College in London. I am passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge. I understand how helpful having extra guidance can be for people's confidence in themselves and their work.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience tutoring A level Biology both for year 12 and 13 students- with a focus on core understanding and perfecting exam technique to acquire the top grades. I have also mentored prospective Veterinary Medicine candidates and have tutored pre interview and helped with application. Previously I worked with primary school and KS3 students consolidating their knowledge and focusing on making learning a positive experience. I participate in a lot of group work as part of my degree, which focuses on high level explanation and clarity of ideas.

Tutoring Approach

I am a warm and attentive tutor who gets the most from students through encouragement and support. I am adaptable to different students needs and works to build their confidence- from which I focus on the key exam techniques needed to perform. I am pragmatic and works to solve problems and help students achieve their full potential through enthusing them with my passion for learning.
