Hello, I'm Iveta (or Evie for short). I have tutored 100+ students who have achieved amazing results. I graduated from University College London (UCL) with a Master's degree in Psychology in 2017. I obtained a First class degree in my Master's dissertation and it was published. Ever since I graduated, I have been working in the NHS as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist in a child and adolescents mental health service. I am also able to give Psychology students tips on career options and what it's like to work within the field as I've been an Assistant Psychologist for nearly 3 years. I am hoping to get on the clinical training to become a Clinical Psychologist.
I am a friendly, patient and well-organised tutor that tutor's students in Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics and English language & literature. I am also able to proofread and edit essays, lab reports, systematic reviews and dissertations. I am passionate about these subjects and have received an A* in my Psychology and Sociology exams (AS and A2). I have also obtained A* grades in GCSE English, Maths and Science.
When I'm not working, I enjoy dancing. I have been Ballroom & Latin dancing for over 10 years and it is a perfect way for me to unwind whilst also having fun. I also practice meditation and Bikram yoga, which helps me to relax and think more positively.
I have a proven track record in preparing students for the 11+ entrance exams and securing places at some of the UK’s top schools. I tailor each lesson to ensure that every student fully understands the material, going above and beyond to help them achieve their best.
With over 7 years of experience working with children and young adults, I have privately tutored students from primary school through to university level—both face-to-face and online. I build rapport quickly and focus on each student’s individual needs, ensuring they excel academically. Additionally, I offer proofreading and editing for essays and homework, providing constructive feedback in a prompt and timely manner.
I also have extensive experience working with pupils who have EAL (English as an Additional Language), Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This background enables me to offer person-centered tutoring that meets the specific needs of every student.
Before each session, I develop personalized resources tailored to the student’s needs, ensuring they benefit both during and after our lessons. I also provide ongoing support and revision assistance to help students consolidate their learning and achieve their academic goals.
I take a student-focused approach and work with the student to discover their strengths and weaknesses. I listen carefully to what the student is currently working on and what they would like to focus on during the session. Then I create a plan of what each session should cover. I will ensure that sessions are pitched perfectly so my students can make progress straight away.
I have the ability to see the unique strengths in each of my students and I aim to build their confidence by using all learning modalities to develop these strengths. I am a patient tutor and I am dedicated to helping students to tackle challenges while also encouraging independent thought.
Teaching is a two-way process so expect questions - lots of them! If any stumbling blocks have been encountered, I will use a range of questioning techniques to get to the bottom of the problem. Once identified we can build the bridge and lay firm foundations on which to build.
My goals as a tutor is to increase students' grades, inspire them to be enthusiastic about learning and build their confidence. I use different learning techniques during sessions so that students can reach their full potential. I create a friendly atmosphere when I am tutoring by being non-judgmental and providing students with positive reinforcement.
At the end of each lesson, I set homework so that students can consolidate the material learnt and this is carefully tailored to the needs of each individual. I aim to give useful and constructive feedback that will benefit their grades.
