Jacinta

My name is Jacinta Removedand I am a Secondary School English teacher from Galway who is qualified in Ireland, England and Scotland. I am currently the lead coordinator for English and Drama in an independent school in the Epping area. My previous roles include KS4 Lead of English (2nd in department) and a Social Sciences teacher in London. I have a bachelors in English and Psychological studies degree and a Masters in Education from NUIG. I have five years teaching experience and have been a state examiner in Ireland and England. I have ample experience teaching the above subjects for GCSE, A Level, and at Junior and Leaving Cert level in addition to EFL. I have been teaching for four years in England and have been a private home school teacher in addition to a mainstream teacher for the past six years.

Tutoring Experience

I currently teach English to gcse but I have also taught A level English literature, psychology and sociology. I have experience with Applied Law for a year. Over the past year I have designed and carefully prepared all my schools GCSE notes as I am the Lead of English. Leaving Cert Grinds notes which you will receive after grinds with me.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to Grinds/tutoring is informal but effective. I encourage a meeting session to begin so I can assess what the student wants to learn or work on. Then I prepare notes for the student and outline an appropriate plan. The grinds will always be determined on what the student needs to improve on and broken down into revise-able material for future reference. I also provide tips on sitting the exam and how to make the most out of the two hour sitting. For junior cert/GCSE level students, I advise how to improve English written and comprehension for the up coming GCSE/leaving cert years.
