I am currently Head of department within Geography and a Housemaster. I am a passionate footballer as well as working full time as a teacher. I also have a past time searching for fossils due to my interest in paleontology as well as trying to find good places to surf. My favorite place to visit is Iceland which I have run trips to in the past.
I have been teaching for a number of years now to all year groups 7-13. I have experience in both sate sector and private sector as well. I have been a department lead within Geography and have tutored a number of students previously. I have taught and built resources for AQA, OCR and the IGCSE exam boards, as well as being an examiner for AQA. I have a track record of increasing students overall progress within Geography.
My approach is not just exam based but is about giving students deeper understating within Geography. This makes the subject easier to understand and grasp. This include meaningful discussions and making Geography relevant to the students. Being an examiner and teaching a wide of exam boards means I am also able to pin point weaknesses within exam technique and knowledge and am able to adapt for the exam board the students is undertaking.
