I am a dedicated tutor with a passion for maths, science and engineering. After achieving 9 A*s, 2 As and 2 BTEC distinctions (equivalent to 4 GCSEs) at GCSE, and 3 A*s in Maths, Physics and Computing at A-Level, I went on to study General Engineering at Kings College London. Before starting my bachelors degree I entered into the automotive industry for 2 years as a trainee automotive technician, which gave me good practical insight into technical design, mechanics and control systems.
I have been a full/part-time tutor since 2019. I first tutored in my A level year; this involved me having one-to-one sessions with B-grade maths students to help them to achieve their target grades of A/A*.
I have also had experience with adult learners for professional qualifications (e.g Level 2 certificates, and university modules of a mathematical nature).
For 6 months I also engaged with the mathematical element of the American ACT admissions test, helping an American student to get accepted at a high-ranking college.
I also teach the AQA Certificate Level 2 Further Mathematics module (GCSE).
I work well with students of all ages who need a calm but focussed approach; I aim to provide a clear, methodical thought process in all students, at the same time as stretching and testing their knowledge in way that brings out their full potential. I aim to give my students confidence in their abilities and, for the older students, a comprehensive "mental toolkit" in order for them to successfully tackle a wide range of topics with ease.
I use an interactive whiteboard on my laptop to deliver the online lessons. This allows me to write with a tablet and pen in real-time, whilst explaining the subject matter to the student.
I provide tailored worksheets for each student and an example of this can be downloaded from my resources tab.
I have both a basic and enhanced DBS certificate.
Please note I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, however I am flexible to work around unforeseen events.
