Online Maths and Physics Lessons

I am a dedicated tutor with a passion for maths, science and engineering. I achieved 9 A*s, 2 As and 2 BTEC distinctions at GCSE level, 3 A*s in Maths, Physics and Computing at A-Level, and a High First Class Honours (78%) in my BEng General Engineering degree at Kings College London. I have previously worked as an educational content creator for a start-up company based in Switzerland, designing, recording and editing educational videos in maths and physics as part of the company's subscription-based online education service. I am currently working part-time for a leading educational consultancy based in Cambridge, where I deliver online 1-1 sessions in maths and physics for GCSE and A-Level students, as well as mature learners.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a full/part-time tutor since 2019. I first tutored in my A level year; this involved me having one-to-one sessions with B-grade maths students to help them to achieve their target grades of A/A*.

I have also had experience with adult learners for professional qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 certificates, and university modules of a mathematical nature).

For 6 months I also engaged with the mathematical element of the American ACT admissions test, helping an American student to get accepted at a high-ranking college.

Tutoring Approach

I work well with students of all ages who need a calm but focussed approach; I aim to provide a clear, methodical thought process in all students, at the same time as stretching and testing their knowledge in way that brings out their full potential. I aim to give my students confidence in their abilities and, for the older students, a comprehensive "mental toolkit" in order for them to successfully tackle a wide range of topics with ease.

I use an interactive whiteboard on my laptop to deliver the online lessons through Zoom. This allows me to write with a tablet and pen in real-time, whilst explaining the subject matter to the student. I have found this method to be the most engaging for the students. I am also able to send the students all notes made during the sessions via an exported pdf email.

I provide tailored worksheets for each student and an example of this can be downloaded from my resources tab.

I have both a basic and enhanced DBS certificate.

Please note I have a 24 hour cancellation policy, however I am flexible to work around unforeseen events.
