I'm an experienced and passionate Physics teacher with 14 years of classroom teaching behind me. I hold an upper second class honours degree in Physics from Imperial College London, and over the years I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to help students thrive in this subject—especially at GCSE and A-Level.
Throughout my career, I’ve taught students from Year 7 through to Year 13, but for the past seven years I have focused exclusively on GCSE and A-Level Physics, specialising in the AQA specifications. My students consistently achieve excellent results; last year, my GCSE pupils achieved an impressive average grade of 8. I’ve also supported A-Level students in gaining places at top universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, and other Russell Group institutions.
In addition to teaching, I’ve held key leadership roles—serving as Head of Science for seven years and Head of Physics for five. These positions have given me a strong grasp of curriculum planning, effective teaching strategies, and how to get the best out of students of all abilities.
Recently, I relocated from London to Hove with my family and continue to teach A-Level Physics online to Year 13 students at a school I previously worked at. I have extensive experience tutoring both GCSE and A-Level students online, using an interactive whiteboard and a wide range of exam questions to ensure lessons are engaging, targeted, and effective.
My enthusiasm for physics is at the heart of everything I do. I aim not only to help students achieve excellent results but also to build their confidence and curiosity in the subject. Whether you're preparing for exams or looking to deepen your understanding, I offer tailored support that makes a real difference.
Imperial College London Physics Graduate
Fully qualified science and physics teacher
14 years of teaching experience in London
5 years as Head of Physics
7 years as Head of Science
Exclusively taught AQA GCSE and A level physics for the past 7 years.
Supported students through the UCAS process
Tutored GCSE and A level pupils on Skype, Zoom and Microsoft teams.
My tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and confidence-building. I begin by helping students identify their strengths and areas for improvement using a topic checklist. Once we've pinpointed weaker areas, we revisit key theory to address any misconceptions, followed by targeted practice with past exam questions to reinforce understanding. I believe that learning should be engaging—so I like to bring a bit of humour into sessions to keep things relaxed and enjoyable. I always aim to build students' confidence through clear explanations, praise, and constructive, focused feedback. I genuinely believe physics is an exciting and enjoyable subject when taught in the right way—there’s a connection to physics in almost everything around us, and I enjoy helping students see that.
