Hello! My name is Jacob, and I’m an history graduate from the University of Cambridge - and I want to be your history and/or politics tutor!

I have extensive knowledge and experience in various areas of the political and historical disciplines, having completed both a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Politics and a Master’s Degree in History - the latter at St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge.

I have a proven track record of high academic attainment, having received two First Class degrees and multiple awards for overall academic achievement. I am currently working on my first publishable academic article.

My journey with history and politics - history in particular - has encompassed all of my school, sixth form, and university life, and I want to help passionate and enthusiastic students grow with history too! I am also available to teach study skills or essay writing skills to improve student writing experience.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach varies as each student or historian learns in different ways. This means I am fairly adaptable to differing needs and wants. We can discuss approaches which best help you learn, and I can also suggest ways which might aid learning and development.

I strongly encourage University students to contact me. I am available to discuss essays and theses, or discuss approaches to written work e.g., structure or argument composition.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Discussion-based learning (Broadly discuss topics, issues, queries, or gain advice)
• University-style lectures and seminars (Formal learning to teach topic)
• Revision-style (This could be discussing exam questions or discussing academic work such as essays or dissertations).
