Jackie was superb from start to finish. She was kind and sympathetic in responding to our desperate attempts to find a tutor at short notice for our 15 year old son when his mock English Language result was not what it should have been. She was willing to work with us and be flexible about fitting him in even though her schedule was already full. She was able to quickly and accurately identify his weak areas in the subject whilst at the same time demonstrating a high level of understanding about how a 15 year old boy, and our son and his personality in particular, would best respond to assistance and styles of teaching/ coaching. Jackie was professional, reliable, honest in her feedback and someone with whom we could have a frank discussion and be confident she would understand our concerns.

My daughter Hannah has said that she is benefiting greatly from the extra tuition with Jacqueline.
From auriol
Jacqueline knows what she is doing. She inspired myself and my daughter with confidence from the very start. My daughter has a very scientific brain and so was struggling with English and Jacqueline has turned that around with her enthusiasm, energy and positive approach to the subject. She is also excellent at helping with revision stress!
Thanks so much for that Auriol - your daughter is a delight to coach! It's certainly getting stressful for them now… Understanding how to manage their revision in a time-efficient way, including precious downtime, is critical to their success!
From Anna
My son had 2 workshops with Jackie to get him ready for his GCSE Engiish and he felt that Jackie's input helped a lot and made a real difference . My son is looking forward to Jackie tutoring him through his A level as he really likes her style of tutoring .
From Bashar
Jacqueline is an excellent teacher. She helped my son achieve A* in English language GCSE. She is approachable, friendly and knowledgable. What is impressive is her ability to adapt her lesson and method according to the need and ability of the student helping them achieve their full potential. I would certainly highly recommend her.
Thanks so much for those kind words Bashar - your son's commitment to hard work and acting on advice so thoroughly was most impressive to me! He absolutely deserved his success!

Jackie is friendly and knowledgeable in her topic areas… My daughter wanted advice on essay structure. She listened and was always prepared to go the extra mile to make sure what my daughter needed was appropriate.
Thanks very much for that Nicki - a pleasure. Also, huge congratulations to your daughter for gaining her place at one of the Uk's top university! I'm sure she'll have a fabulous experience there :)
From Erica
Jackie has been an absolute life saver, getting me through A-Level sociology in 9 months without a college/sixth form, and instrumental in my achieving a grade A. Her years of experience have made her an insightful and intuitive tutor, and a well of knowledge regarding exam boards, her subjects (plus real life context), and available resources. Personally, she was absolutely lovely, patient and accommodating, especially when my mental health made studying difficult. I’d recommend her to anyone.
Oh Erica - thank you so much for those kind words - as I always say, I may guide and advise but it is you, the student, who has to apply it and sit those exams! You so deserved your A - and I'm thrilled that you are mentally back on form and looking forward to uni!
From Dawn
Jackie’s help has been invaluable over the last 12 months. Having started the Sociology A level 5 months late it was looking like my daughter would have to repeat a year at 6th form. However, with Jackie’s help, she is hoping to achieve a B grade! Jackie’s wealth of knowledge has also helped with other subjects and University decisions/applications. She has also been key in increasing my daughters confidence with regard to her academic abilities. Thank you so much Jackie, we would recommend you to anyone who is thinking of extra tuition.
Thank you so much Dawn - it's been a real pleasure working with Gemma, watching her confidence grow - and getting to know you both - I'm sure Gemma's hard work will pay off this summer!

Jackie has been an understanding, patient and excellent tutor, who has worked sensitively with our daughter to increase her confidence, English skills and exam technique, especially in History. Having achieved BCC in her English Lang/Lit and History GCSE's which was below predictions, and struggling with A/S exams (D/E), our daughter was able to gradually take on board all of Jackie's help and achieve the grades she needed at A2 - (BCC) and get into her first choice university. We would not hesitate to recommend Jackie for students who need additional support to bring up their grades. Thank you Jackie!
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Carrie and get to know you both Sharon over the last two years - it has been especially lovely to see you, Carrie, blossom into a such a confident young woman. You worked so hard to 'bank' such a wide range of learning strategies and now use these with ease - I'm sure university will not faze you in the least - have a fabulous year - I shall have to come to one of your concerts! :))
From Alan
Jackie was a fantastic tutor, focusing on skills for examination and writing, rather than just how to pass an exam. I was an A Level student, and achieved an E in my first year, with Jackies help I achieved a B. She's a people's phones, friendly and puts you at complete ease. I developed a real dislike, and fear of exams following my first year results, which I really think we're helped by Jackie.
Thanks so much Amie - we certainly had great fun - I'm guessing 'phones' is 'person' - typos via the mobile methinks?! As I always say, I may advise and guide but it's you who had to accept and apply your new precision skills - you so deserve your fantastic results! Well done! :))
From Jenny
Our son was set to fail his English GCSEs having got Es and Ds in his controlled assessments. He hated English and was really demotivated. After working with Jackie we noted he became mich more positive - as did his school. He retook his assessments and achieved Cs and eventually got a B and a C for his GCSEs. This progress was thanks to his work with Jackie. She can be a little unreliable at times - having to reschedule the odd class but she will also try to fit in extra sessions when you need them. THis was really helpful around the exams. We have no hesitation in recommending her especially if your child is dyslexic or dyspraxic
Thank you so much Jenny - it was a real pleasure getting to know you all and watch Joe get 'back on track'. Yes- I'm sorry we needed to reschedule at times but, as you kindly mentioned, I also pack extra in when the pressure is really on! For future students - I always explain that whilst I will offer a core regular slot, I will occasionally need to reschedule due to certain meetings or examining events I can't control. I usually find another slot in the same week or add extra in elsewhere. Likewise, I try to accommodate the unexpected commitments of my lovely students - we all seem to find this flexibility quite useful at times! As such, I rarely charge for cancelled sessions ( unless it becomes too regular!)

From Rachel
Jackie is a very experienced professional who quickly established a good relationship with my teenage son, listening to him patiently and carefully assessing what his specific needs/gaps in English were. After just one meeting my son felt much more positive about his ability with English, which is a massive turnaround for him. He has now had several tutoring sessions which he has really enjoyed (he has always hated English as a subject!) and is already making good progress: partly due to Jackies careful and practical advice, and partly due to her enthusiastic and positive approach. I'm delighted to have found such an excellent tutor for my son!
Thanks so much Rachel - Adam is a delight to work with! UPDATE Two years on - what fantastic results Adam - A* !! The D grade that annoyed you so much is a million years ago now!
Text received from Rachel after results: "Adam says 'thank-you so much for all the help & support you’ve given me over the year!' Personally I’m relieved it's all over & chuffed he got such a high mark 4 Eng Language!" - So am I Rachel! :))
From Jemma
Jackie is lovely and has helped considerably since we started lessons. She is very approachable and instantly put me at ease when we met for the first time. I would recommend her to anyone requiring additional support in their English
Thank you so much Jemma - you are a pleasure to work with - let's get those course work pieces 'nailed' now… ?! :)
From Sarah
Jacqueline has suceeded where others have failed in really understanding Libby's needs. She has a really friendly and energetic approach and pitches the session to ensure that Libby is stretched, yet feels she can cope, which is really building confidence. I can wholly recommend her.
Sarah, thank you very much for those lovely words - I'm so glad Libby is feeling positive. She is a delight and will further grow in confidence over time I'm sure!
