I am a Master of Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Oxford, interested in Probability Theory, Combinatorics, Statistics and Machine Learning.
I am passionate about teaching and education and eager to share my knowledge with others. My teaching philosophy centres around fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where students are encouraged to actively engage with the material, ask questions, and explore different problem-solving approaches.
I am fully committed to seeing my students succeed and determined to help them reach their full potential. I would be happy to help with the current school material as well as with the preparation for:
-> GCSEs, A-levels, IB exams,
-> university entrance exams such as MAT/STEP,
-> Maths Olympiad and other maths competitions,
-> Oxbridge applications (entrance exams and interview preparation, including mock interviews and application tips).
-> I've been an online and in-person maths tutor for the past three years, helping numerous students with their preparation for final exams such as GCSEs, A-levels, IB exams and Polish equivalents (all my students obtained at least 90% on their final exams) and Maths Olympiads (three of my students have qualified for the final round of the Polish Maths Olympiad).
-> I've helped students with their Oxbridge admission process (entrance exams and interview preparation, including mock interviews; application tips).
-> I tutor at We Solve Problems, a charitable institution that organises Maths Circles and Maths Battle competitions in
UK schools.
-> In the summers of 2022, 2023, I was a counsellor at PROMYS Europe (a 6-week maths camp at the University of Oxford), where I tutored Number Theory, Combinatorics, Probability and Group Theory to highly motivated high school students.
-> Focus on SELF-EXPLORATION.
I encourage my students to actively engage with the material and explore new concepts and ideas rather than simply reading the answers. By asking thought-provoking questions, I try to guide the student to find the solution for themself. I believe this approach helps my students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter and fosters a sense of curiosity and creativity which is essential for success in mathematics.
-> Emphasis on COMMUNICATION SKILLS by encouraging my students to try to present their ideas clearly and concisely (an essential skill for exams).
-> Presenting EFFICIENT methods of doing questions to SAVE TIME during time-pressured exams.
To support my students' self-exploration, I often go over past papers (with a focus on harder questions) as well as provide PERSONALISED PROBLEM SETS tailored to their individual needs and goals. I believe this is a great way for my students to practice and apply the concepts they have learned, and it helps them develop their problem-solving skills and confidence.
-> Creating a SUPPORTIVE and COLLABORATIVE learning environment where my students feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help when they need it.
-> Developing a DEEP UNDERSTANDING of mathematics and enhancing my students' PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS.
