I am a passionate and highly experienced tutor of English, Philosophy and Politics, who graduated with First Class Honours from Kings College London. Over the past ten years, I have helped countless students to grow in confidence and exceed their target grades. Alongside my academic research, I have taught in top colleges and schools, and recently gave a philosophy lecture at Yale University Art gallery. Drawing on my wide experience and knowledge of the mark schemes, I create my own resources, tailored to your needs, including model answers and even revision videos.
I began tutoring while completing my undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Politics at the University of Sheffield. I underwent teacher training and a placement at Silverdale School. I was immensely popular with students and staff, and finishing top of my class, was asked to stay on and teach while completing my own studies. I also ran the ‘Philosophy in the City’ program, in which I organised a team of tutors to deliver lessons at charitable institutions throughout the city. I proceeded to complete my MA in Philosophy at Kings College London and graduated with a Distinction. For the next five years, I worked with students from a diverse range of backgrounds and levels of ability. I’ve inspired struggling GCSE English pupils to rise from Level 4 to Level 9, and guided students into top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. As an undergraduate tutor, I have worked with students at Cambridge, UCL and Kuwait University- helping one student to ascend from an average mark of 35 to an overall grade of 78 and achieve funding for a PhD course.
My approach is flexible and compassionate. In our first lesson, I will identify your strengths and areas for improvement to create a structured learning plan tailored to your individual needs. Drawing on years of experience, my lessons are structured around the mark scheme and giving students the tools required for exam success. I also create my own learning resources, which can be adapted to your needs, including model answers and revision guides for difficult topics.
