Your progress is my priority. I am a highly experienced tutor who puts your learning and achievement at the very top of my agenda. I am a qualified Doctor from University College London (UCL) and a former postgraduate student at the University of Oxford. I am offering my services as a tutor and/or proofreader in a wide range of subjects including English, Religious Studies, Medicine (including help with applications and writing personal statements, as well as exam preparation for integrated and PBL medicine courses), Entrance Exams (including BMAT and GAMSAT), Biology and Psychology.
As a medical Doctor and a humanities graduate, I bring a unique skillset to my teaching, with expertise in essay writing, as well as clinical and scientific reasoning. Having gained a Distinction from the University of Oxford, my strengths lie in helping students to formulate well-structured and coherent prose by developing the skills of argumentation and critical appraisal. I also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the current GCSE and A-Level syllabi having obtained the highest possible grades myself and tutored many successful students in these subjects.
I have extensive teaching experience in a variety of diverse and oft-challenging environments (from UK Medical Schools to working as a tutor in Italy and Ghana). I personalise my teaching to the individual. As a tutor, I pride myself on tailoring our sessions to your individual learning needs and my record to date has seen many students flourish academically, attaining the highest possible grades and often exceeding even their most ambitious targets.
As a proofreader, I will be able to offer constructive advice on writing and editing coursework, essays and personal statements. I have vast experience guiding students in the essay writing process, and bridging the gap between average and outstanding.
At the heart of my teaching approach is an enthusiasm for learning and progress. I consider myself to be patient, empathetic and, above all, dedicated to helping you reach your full potential. I am committed to helping all my students through an honest assessment of the following three questions, which we will answer together in our first session:
