My daughter found James to be an outstanding Government and Politics tutor, whom she had a very positive working relationship with for over a year. When I found James with First Tutors, my daughter was lacking in confidence, had huge gaps in her subject knowledge and had not developed a love for this subject. James delivered both face to face and on line lessons. He was meticulous with his planning and preparation and dealt sensitively with my daughter's specific learning requirements, whilst making lessons both challenging and fun. Lesson plans and resources were always sent in advance and James went well beyond what was expected in terms of marking, giving constructive feed back and striking the right balance in terms of helping my daughter to achieve her full potential.
By the end of her two year course this subject ended up being one that she engaged with fully, very much enjoyed and more importantly understood. She would not now be at Nottingham University studying Sociology if it were not for James. I cannot recommend James highly enough. He is both professional and genuine in his passion for teaching and has much to offer.

James has taught my son Geography GCSE and has helped him achieve a 9. James is very professional and pleasant. His lessons are very well organised and he has even helped my son with lots of tips to become more efficient at revising. His help with pass papers has been particularly helpful.

James saved the day for my son who had not had an A level Sociology teacher since December.
James was able to work out very quickly what my son could achieve and how to get there. He was always very well prepared and spent time marking essays before the lesson. James is very reliable and always arrived on time.
What particularly helped was focusing on exam technique and essay structure.
I believe this helped my son in his other subjects too. James is currently teaching students, so you get the added bonus of a qualified teacher who has up-to-date information on the A'level.
