I am an experienced educator, having taught at post-graduate, undergraduate, and college levels in theology, history, and philosophy. My interest is in helping people understand what they often already know, and in raising their self-expectations as well as their ability to achieve them. I have also done extensive work with UCAS and university admissions, especially in relation to Oxford, Cambridge, and the most competitive universities and programmes.
I am the author of numerous peer-reviewed papers, chapters, encyclopedia entries, as well as one complete academic monograph and two other books in print.
I held both teaching and management positions in a sixth form college over the course of fifteen years, across which time I also lectured for a variety of universities both in the UK and in Canada.
I encourage students to get to know who they are and what they are capable of. Regardless of their interests, desires, or intentions for the future, I believe that knowledge and wisdom are worth acquiring, and encourage them to embrace their learning opportunities by applying skills they already have, while helping them to develop further, more enhanced, study skills.
