I am an Assistant Headteacher at Secondary Age, and have held such a position for 9 years across two schools. My main responsibility at school is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Outside of school, I am a keen sportsman, both playing and coaching. I specialise at Foundation Maths Level, finding ways to help students who are aiming for a Grade 4/5 become more confident and independent with their Maths.
I have been working in education for 16 years and 10 years specialising at teaching Maths at KS4 Foundation level. Alongside my role as a Senior Leader in schools, giving me a strong track record of helping students build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve excellent outcomes
I focus on building students' confidence as well as subject knowledge. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and adapt my teaching to suit each learner’s needs and preferred style. My approach emphasises problem-solving, real-world applications, and developing resilience, so students not only master key skills but also learn how to think mathematically. Above all, I create a supportive environment where mistakes are seen as part of the learning journey, helping students to grow in both ability and self-belief.
