I am a teacher by profession, a writer of fiction, a classical linguist, and an amateur pianist.
I have 26 years of experience teaching Mathematics to schoolchildren from ages 12 to 18, and have successfully prepared many classes for public examinations at National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher (Mathematics and Mechanics) and A-Level. I taught myself Latin and Greek, and have read many of the classical authors in the original languages.
My approach is to work through a few examples, then have the student try some. I make suggestions only when necessary. The more practice which the student gets during the period of tuition the better. In this way, the progression from simple to advanced is eased.
