By profession I am a Chartered Certified Accountant with a strong Maths background. 15 years ago, when my eldest son was in year 5 I commenced coaching him and a few of his friends for the 11+ exam. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was highly rewarded when they all achieved high marks and Grammar School places. Since then, I have coached several pupils with quite a high success rate, including my youngest son who qualified for a Grammar School place a few years ago.
Over fifteen years experience in preparing pupils for 11+ entrance exam and preparing pupils for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SAT exams, Maths and English tutoring for primary school children, tutoring for 12+ and 13+ entrance exams including common entrance as well as Maths tutoring up to year 10.
At present, due to the increased workload, I only concentrate on preparing pupils for 11+ entrance exams from year 4 onwards.
I offer tutoring in groups of six. I design the course content to suit the requirements of each pupil. During the tutoring session the pupils are taught the best methods and techniques to approach each question type and time is spent on improving their vocabulary and Maths. A reasonable amount of homework is set based on the techniques studied during the lesson. To improve speed, accuracy and confidence we work through various practice papers.
Parents are regularly updated on their children's progress and I am quite happy for them to phone me with any concerns or suggestions.
I have a current enhanced CRB certificate.
