I am passionate about science and dedicated to helping students excel at all levels. I hold a 1st class degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Manchester. As a parent of five, I bring added insight and maturity when working with young people of varying ages and abilities.
With over eight years of teaching and tutoring experience, I carefully assess the needs of each new student to build their confidence and maximize their grades. My approach is tailored to ensure that students reach their full potential in A-level Chemistry.
For A-level Chemistry, I provide comprehensive teaching resources, including detailed notebooks that covers every aspect of the specification, ensuring students have all the information needed for their exams. Additionally, my task booklets, complete with mark schemes, contain exercises designed to build confidence and deepen knowledge before tackling exam questions.
Students will have access to numerous exam questions, each tailored to specific topics, to enhance exam technique and consolidate knowledge. Recent feedback includes: “Jane’s booklets were very straightforward and made the more difficult concepts easier to understand,” and “Jane’s resources and booklets are fantastic, explaining everything in detail, which makes revising so much easier.”
My teaching method emphasizes practicing exercises together and engaging in discussions to ensure a strong grasp of subject knowledge. Practicing exam techniques is key to rapidly improving grades.
