I have worked with children for many years. I am married with 3 children who are now in their late teens/early twenties. I am patient, enthusiastic and interested in all aspects of art. My past students have used a wide range of material and covered many disciplines’ within the art world from fine art to graphics to photography, but I also feel that good drawing (observational skills) can benefit all, whether you want to be an Engineer or a Doctor.
I have taught Art and Design at Secondary level for the last 9 years. My past students have specialised in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography and 3D Design at KS3, GCSE and A Level. I have a good knowledge of the exam’s syllabus and the Assessment Objectives used by the exam boards. I also teach drawing for fun at home for adults and children in groups of 4/5, these are of course cheaper than the one-to-one tutoring at £6.00 per head.
All my one-to-one sessions are done in consultation with the tutee and are based on what their interests are, for example past students have explored Fashion, Sculpture, Manga and Fantasy Art, Portraiture and Computer Animation, and what their needs are, for example gaps in a portfolio, improvement in their observational drawing etc. I aim to bring out each student’s individual creativity by finding out what inspires them, encouraging them to explore and thus maximise their confidence in this field.
