Tutoring Approach

From the very beginning, I make sure to create a welcoming and approachable atmosphere in my classes. I respect and value my students' ideas, and I encourage them to share their input on how to proceed with examples and exercises. By incorporating their answers into our work, I empower them to take ownership of their learning and develop self-confidence.
I also believe that preparation is key. Before each class, I carefully review the official syllabus and create a customized one with and for each individual student. I then prepare a series of written notes with multiple and varied examples for each concept we will cover. I carefully select examples that are not only useful in understanding the topic but also show how to work through potential difficulties that my students might encounter.
Throughout each session, I welcome and encourage questions, emphasizing the importance of questioning in math and science. I answer questions with patience and clarity and may even invite the questioner to help work through examples.
My commitment to my students doesn't end when class is over. I am always available to answer questions via email or text message and guide students in their spare time. I utilize Liveboard, an online classroom environment, to offer a safe and functional learning experience. Liveboard comes loaded with fancy tools like graph plotters, with built-in video functionality, files drag, and drop functions, and a session recording that acts as class notes.

One more thing: my commitment to excellence also extends to the environment. To minimize my carbon footprint, I don't offer in-person tutoring. Instead, all the equipment I use in my tutoring work is powered by a small windmill and a solar panel array.
