I am an enthusiastic primary school teacher from London. My two passions are education and travel, so I try to incorporate these two things where I can. I have recently returned from a year abroad, where I was lucky enough to teach in some fantastic schools in Cambodia and Thailand.
I have been a primary school teacher in London for six years. In this time, I have taught many different year groups, but have taught mostly in Year 6. I have held a number of positions within schools and most recently have been working as an assistant headteacher. This has given me an excellent understanding of all areas of the primary curriculum.
Working at an inner city school in London has allowed me to work with pupils with a variety of needs. I have taught a number of children who are on the SEN register and am therefore able to adapt lessons to suit many different learning needs. I have also taught English as an additional language to both pupils within my school setting and abroad.
I want children to be active learners and ask questions as much as possible. I often teach through questioning, giving children an opportunity to explain and deepen their understanding.
