I have been a primary school teacher for over 18 years.
Most of the children I teach would agree that I am quite strict, expect a lot of hard work but I am also fair and kind. They often don't agree with my sense of humour and feel my jokes are incredibly naff!
I have taught in primary schools for over eighteen years. For much of my career I have been the maths lead in different schools. Recently, I have returned to the UK from teaching in Malaysia for the last 4 years.
I have been particularly successful with children that have - in the past - found maths scary or threatening. I am very good at developing confidence in children - across all areas of the curriculum. I have experience with SATs and I have supported some children with their 11+ tests and scholarship exams for entry into private school.
I believe that anyone can learn and I have a range of strategies to motivate, inspire and support children. I have had success with instilling a growth mindset in many of the children that I have taught. Many of them have realised that hard word, careful thought and listening carefully to the advice they are given are the keys to unlocking learning in all subjects.
