Hi! I have a bachelor's degree in Education and have had the blessing of teaching in many different environments in many different countries, including America where I grew up, and Italy where I lived for 5 years. I love to teach language practically, but also in a fun conversational way. In having to learn another language myself, I found that it is one thing to know the textbook grammar rules (which are important and have to be taught in a simplified but effective way), but it's another thing to know how to take part in everyday conversation more comfortably. When you can feel at ease in a casual chat, than learning the deeper specifics of a language seems to become easier and more enjoyable.
I have had the blessing to teach in a variety of places, including these:
-2 years Supply teaching in American Primary Schools
-2 years teaching in a private American Early Years school
-A weekly program teaching English as a foreign language to Primary students
-Leading an English conversation group for Adults
-Tutoring English in Italy to Children and Adults of all levels
Learning should be fun and definitely include laughter. It should also be purposeful- not just studying a textbook, but learning in a way to enjoy interacting with others in a language that's not your own. We will study the rules of grammar and structure, but I hope to do it in a way that is practical for everyday use. Learning language is a gift and we should be thankful for the opportunity and enjoy it as we do!
