Currently a Head of Computer Science at prestigious Independent School in Kent. My experience as a GCSE examiner has further allowed me to mentor my students effectively in preparing for exams and tackling exam questions. I have accumulated over 19 years of teaching experience in GCSE and A-level Computer Science, during which I have developed a teaching style characterised by confidence, patience, and a grounded approach. This intimate environment facilitates in-depth exploration of the subjects, while also evaluating their proficiency in addressing exam-style questions. Formative assessments and collaborative discussions are integral to enriching students' comprehension.

I've dedicated 17 years to teaching, primarily in a mixed comprehensive secondary school with a sixth form, and have an additional 6 years of experience in adult training. My journey in education has seen me progress from a Key Stage 4 subject leader for Computer Science to ultimately becoming a Lead Teacher for Computer Science and IT.
My teaching approach is straightforward and practical. Computer science is a content-intensive and complex subject that demands practice. I employ the FACE strategy, incorporating Feedback, Assessment, Challenges, and Engagement with my students. While programming can pose challenges, my methodical approach has consistently transformed my students into competent and creative problem solvers in programming.
