I love languages, travel and getting to know people in equal proportion. Teaching languages combines all three! I have learnt 4 languages in the classroom, 2 at degree level and have become fluent in Spanish through 15 years living in Spain and South America, translating and interpreting along the way. I adore Latin American cinema and Spanish language music, and use a lot of both along with broad cultural knowledge to bring language-learning alive.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for 11 years as Head of Spanish at a West Sussex independent school and at 6th form college, helping students learn to love Spanish, and achieve their best possible grades. I am familiar with the most current GCSE, A level and IB syllabi, but am happy also to inspire learners in a more conversational or cultural approach to language learning.

Tutoring Approach

Every individual needs something different. I respond to a student’s desires (linguistic support, exam technique, cultural inspiration and fun), and their strengths/challenges to tailor the best interactive lessons possible, with plenty of material for self-study and feedback.
