Online English and Sociology Lessons

Hello everyone! My name is Jenna, I've been teaching English for the past six or seven years and I absolutely love it! On top of teaching, I love playing D&D, making music, editing video and making video games. All forms of creativity interest me and I always need to do something!

I can't wait to meet you, find out how you feel about the subject of English and see what we can do together to ensure your success!

Tutoring Experience

I'm currently working part-time at a college teaching Functional Skills and Entry level English. My previous experience includes:
Entry levels 1, 2, 3
Functional Skills levels 1 and 2
GCSE English
Degree level Fiction
Degree level Creative Writing
Degree level Writing for Board Games, Narrative Games and Roleplaying Games.

Tutoring Approach

My students love my classes because my enthusiasm is contagious and I can make difficult concepts easy to understand. English is one of the most important subjects because it contains concepts such as persuasion, tone, formality, tension; all these things that help us to design our communication into something that will achieve our goals effectively.

Students between the ages of 16 and 60 all seem to enjoy my classes and end up feeling more confident about English. I have a 100% pass rate at my college job so far, which I'm very proud of.

I can teach in a variety of styles, depending on the needs of the student. However, I also can teach English through the use of roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons. These sessions cost a little extra (60ph) because it takes a lot more time to design, plan and assess according to your needs. This approach has been proven to be successful and my research on using D&D as a method to engage students in English was published in an education journal.
