Hi I’m Jen and I am a chemistry specialist science teacher working in Cheshire. I worked in industry before coming into teaching so bring the wealth of knowledge of the applications of science into my teaching. I am a very patient, passionate and motivated person so I push myself to approach every session to the best of my ability.

Tutoring Experience

I teach all year groups from year 7 to year 13. This means that I have a clear understanding of the expectations for the knowledge and skills that a student should have. I have taught both trilogy and separate science for a number of years and feel confident with the specification for both. Through teaching A-level Chemistry, I am in an excellent position to push any student who is considering taking it. I also work as an examiner so fully understand what is expected to get the best out of students in their exams.

Tutoring Approach

Every student is different with the past experiences they have had with the subject. I would start by assessing the baseline for the student so that both I and the student had a clear idea of what would primarily focused on in the sessions. I believe that students learn best when they feel relaxed and at ease which is the learning environment I would promote.
