I am an enthusiastic and hardworking Maths teacher who in addition to subject expertise and great knowledge of the curriculum, can also offer patience, encouragement and empathy. I am known as Jenny; I am passionate about Maths and I like to make my lessons engaging and fun, I also like to remind my students that: 'It doesn’t matter if they get it wrong. An incorrect answer is an opportunity to learn something new’. I am a qualified teacher and have been tutoring for many years. It is a privilege watching my students achieve their goals and aspirations under my guidance and support.
I have been tutoring for the last 5 years, and I currently teach Maths at one of the best mainstream secondary schools in Oxford. I tutor primary, KS3 and GCSE students, all attainments. It has been incredible to witness my students journey and in many occasions they have surpassed their targets, exceeded their own expectations which is exactly what I aim to achieve.
I believe all pupils deserve to experience success in maths if given the right guidance and support. After finding out the students needs I then provide them with tailored support by curating lessons that target their needs to excel in their maths studies. I use a variety of resources depending on what I believe is suitable for the student, as there is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to teaching as well as learning. It is crucial for me that students understand the maths, how formulae and concepts are derived, rather than just learning the facts by heart. This ensures that the information is stored in their long term memory and can be easily accessed in the future.
