I am part of the Senior Leadership Team. I have more than 20 years experience in teaching Science. I trained for teacher training at the prestigious Kings College London, whist I was training I was selected to be course representative for that year.
I studied for my degree at University of Liverpool which is also affiliated with the Russell group. Whilst studying I took part in the student tutoring programme. This is a voluntary programme that helps you lend your expertise in teaching pupils in various different settings.
I have taught at all levels including GCSE Triple Award Science and Additional Award Science. I have had experience of the following exam boards AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I am also adaptable to different requirements of course providers.
During my time in teaching I have been privileged to have had the following responsibilities:
• To mentor and coach students on postgraduate teacher training programmes in Science
• I have been the resources coordinator for Science
• I have organised and monitored assessment for learning within the Science department
• I have trained colleagues on Science resources and the best strategies to help pupils achieve
• Year achievement coordinator
• Special educational needs coordination for Science.
For your child I will assess all strengths and weaknesses to understand what help and assistance is required. I will then provide a programme of individualised study decided with them in advance. I will then put strategies in place to help your child to achieve, build confidence and make progress.
