I am a fully qualified, experienced teacher with experience in both main stream and special education. I have taught for over 13 years, working with students from reception to adults. I have extensive experience of working with children with a wide range of learning difficulties and scaffold learning in a fun, patient way so all children can experience achievement.
I began by teaching adults part time when my son was born. I quickly grew to love teaching and began working full time. As my children grew, I realised that I really wanted to teach a younger age group and retrained to teach primary level. I have taught in both main stream and special primary schools - working with children of all ranges of abilities and differing needs. I have tutored many children with great success in their learning goals - whether it's to develop in confidence or to prepare for the 11+.
After an initial assessment a learning plan is developed that meets the child's needs and follows the national curriculum. Every child is teated as an idividual and work is carried out according to their abilities, ensuring they are challenged but also enabling them to grow in confidence in their abilities
