I'm an armchair sports fan ( my football playing days seem a lifetime ago) and an avid reader. I taught for a few years in the Tropics where I qualified as a scuba diving instructor - stayed with the maths though as there's less equipment needed and you stay a lot drier.
I live in Yorkshire
I'm a highly experienced career (30+ yrs) maths teacher - mostly in sixth form colleges - and examiner for A-level maths . I have taught maths and further maths across different exam boards and through various specification changes. I really enjoy maths as much as when I started teaching so same level of enthusiasm combined with a wealth of experience.
Problem-solving is the key to most maths questions so I seek to create a supportive environment where tutees feel comfortable asking questions and develop the confidence to have a go. I'm keen to develop Independent reflective learners - after all , you sit the exams not me.
