I have just finished my first year of medical school at Queen's University Belfast.
I am offering tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, French and Spanish up to A-level and language tutoring for teen and adult learners who are beginners or intermediate as well as medicine/dentistry application help including personal statement checks and interview preparation.

I sat the UCAT in 2022 and achieved a score of 3010 which allowed me to place in the top 10% of test takers and receive 4/4 medicine offers.

Having converted each of my interviews to an offer, I can help you practice and structure your interview answers to enable you to enjoy the same success!

Tutoring Experience

I have been tutoring for 3 years on a 1-1 and small group basis. In the past, I have tutored KS3 and GCSE students in Biology, Chemistry, French and Spanish as well as helped tutees with medical/dental school applications, including UCAT, personal statement and interview preparation.

Having worked with students who struggle in a traditional classroom environment, have missed lessons, and those striving for the top grades, I know how to help each type of student and I can not only personalise the lesson based on your academic needs but also help you implement strategies to manage your revision based on your individual circumstances.

Tutoring Approach

During your first free lesson, I like to discuss your needs and expectations so that I can tailor the lessons to your preferences and learning style.

Medicine/Dentistry Application Tutoring

We can create a structured plan for you to work through to ensure you cover all of the sections of the UCAT in time and complete plenty of practice questions, or if you prefer, we can work more spontaneously to improve on the weaknesses you discover as you prepare for the UCAT exam.

In the interview preparation lessons and personal statement review sessions, I can share how to get work experience and volunteering opportunities and help you show they key attributes and skills you've gained in your answers and your personal statement.

Science Tutoring

Most of my students find that addressing gaps in understanding with diagrams and step by step explanations alongside plenty of practice questions brings the greatest improvement but my lessons are tailored to your needs so I will adjust my methodology to suit your goals.
We can follow a structured plan to keep you on track to achieve your aims or work more spontaneously to improve on areas of difficulty that you discover at school or during our sessions.
I can go over basic concepts, or focus on specific topics and help with homework, assignments and exam preparation.

French and Spanish Tutoring

We can practice a specific topic or skill if you are at an upper beginner or intermediate level or I can help you get started with your Spanish/French journey and teach you basic grammar and phrases.

If you are preparing for an exam, we can make a plan and work on topics and question types which are included in the specification and I can help you with homework and assignments.

I have experience tutoring students preparing for CCEA GCSE Spanish/French exams and I have sat the CCEA A-level Spanish /French (achieving As at AS) so I can provide help preparing for the particularities of this specification such as the summary and gap fill in the reading paper.

I can also help prepare you for the literature paper if you are studying the Solas film, La Casa de Bernarda Alba, L'Étranger or Thérèse Desqueyroux.
