My qualifications include:

• Undergraduate degree from the University of Bristol

• Primary PGCE

• QTS - Qualified teacher status in the UK

I have been teaching since 2007 and tutoring since 2012.

Over eighteen years I have taught across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

I have extensive experience as an in-school tutor, supporting Year 6 pupils with SATs preparation. I have a proven track record of raising attainment across Year 6 cohorts. through intensive 1-2-1 tutoring.

I have successfully tutored students for the following entrance exams:

I have tutored children in preparation for The Kent Test.

I have extensive experience teaching phonics and early reading.

Tutoring Approach

When I first meet a student, I prioritise building their self-esteem and confidence.

An initial assessment will identify strengths which can be built upon, as well as highlighting gaps in learning. I then create a bespoke learning plan; a working document which can be adapted as necessary.

My teaching approach is kind, positive and patient.

I take a step-by-step methodical approach, ensuring all material is fully covered and understood before moving onto the next objective.

Students who are engaged and having fun make more progress and I aim to make lessons enjoyable and interactive.

I keep parents updated regularly and set homework which aims to consolidate learning from the lesson.
