I am a very optimistic, ambitious and confident individual with a IChemE Accredited 1st Class degree in Chemical & Process Engineering and I am currently pursuing a MSc degree from Imperial College London in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Process Systems Engineering.
As a young tutor with 8 years of tutoring under my belt, I can connect quite easily with my students and have recent, first hand experience with the education system so I have many tricks and tips when it comes to smashing exams!
I strive to complete the goals and aims set by myself and others through hard work, self-motivation and determination. I am also a down to earth person who enjoys learning and passing on my knowledge.
I love teaching Maths & Science as I am passionate about the subjects and because students improve so much with the right teaching and encouragement, I love hearing the words "This is actually easy!" after a student has received the right guidance.
I've been tutoring part time for 7+ years alongside my studies at various levels. I have a 100% A*-C (9-5) success rate, with experience tutoring students with various learning difficulties.
I am familiar with OCR, AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge (IGCSE) exam boards and provide plenty of examination practice prior to exams tailored to the students specific exam board.
I have a passion for teaching and learning and my reviews below reflect the kind of individual I am.
I have delivered online lessons to plenty of students across the country as well as face to face sessions. My lessons are interactive and I incorporate the use of a virtual whiteboard online that allows notes taken during the lesson to be sent out to my students so they can revise from them later.
On my first session i like to see what the student is like and ask in what way they learn best. I understand first hand that everyone is different and each individual will have their own way of learning and understanding subjects.
I use many different styles and methods of teaching to explain the topics depending upon the student’s ability and attitude. I feel like learning takes place on many different levels so sessions will be mixed and will be interactive and the students will have ample opportunities to ask questions at any part of the session. I have a patient, positive attitude towards learning and influence my students to have that also.
Introducing exam style questions is a technique i like to use as early on as possible so that the student doesn't panic and feel out of place when the exam paper comes. I use everyday life experiences to explain difficult topics and keep my tutee involved in each and every step.
