I am a research fellow at Nottingham University, and completed my PhD in Psychology in 2020. I am keen to tutor students studying Psychology, Biology or Chemistry at GCSE, ALevel, undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc) levels.
My background:
I studied Psychology in 2006 - 2009 at York university and achieved the highest mark in my academic year, winning the microsoft research prize and University awards for outstanding research. I then went on to conduct postgraduate research in Psychoacoustics, working primarily with hearing impaired and profoundly deaf infants.
In 2011 I moved to London, working as a business analyst and consultant, maintaining my interest in Psychology by tutoring A level students, where I helped them improve their grades from E-C's to A*'s and B's.
Ever since then I have continued to tutor, across the whole spectrum of GCSE, Alevel, undergraduate and masters level. I have tutored over 20 students in Psychology, biology, criminology and health & social care.
In 2016 I began my PhD in Psychology, that I am just about to finish. I am pursuing a career as a researcher/lecturer in the Psychology field, and I am keen to continue tutoring alongside that role.
I have tutored 25 A level students through their studies via face-to-face and Skype in 2010 - 2023; I have tutored 4 University students through their Psychology/Criminology degrees (2015 - present), one through her postgraduate diploma (2018) and two through their masters (2019-2023).
I can provide reading material, exercises and examination technique suited to each syllabus (e.g. AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL or any others at GCSE and Alevel), or each University's framework.
I can take a flexible approach to tutoring - if students need notes/handouts, I can provide them. If students work better from textbooks and material from their lectures or classes, I can work with them to understand and interpret them. If students just want help with one assignment/essay or exam, I can help them learn how to write, revise or review their work.
