I am very experienced subject teacher and have extensively knowledge of the courses you will be studying and the exam skills required to be successful within them. I am new to tutoring but have a history of producing brilliant results as a subject teacher and Head of Department. I also really enjoy helping others to learn new content and hope to help you enjoy what I will be teaching you too.

Tutoring Experience

I am currently an Assistant Headteacher and in my eleventh year of teaching. During my time as a teacher I was the Head of History for 3 years and during that time achieved the best results in my school (on average every student received a grade above their target). I've taught a variety of different exam boards and topics during my career and would be comfortable with the different exam skills and content required on the courses you will be studying.

Tutoring Approach

I like to try and bring the topic which the tutees are learning about to life and usually do this through breaking down the topic for them and establishing the overall context of which they are studying. I also try to make connections and links that will help the tutee learn and remember the content before testing their understanding of this. Once this has been established, I then look to show them modelled examples of exam questions to help them understand what a higher level answer looks like. Following this, I will ask them to produce their own written response to a similar exam question , which I will then assess.
