Retired from a long career in the law (40+ years). Virtually all my tutoring etc is online nowadays. So I am available 24/7 and worldwide!

I find that almost all my students are diligent at their studies, and so they usually already know their stuff. So their brains are already stuffed with all the knowledge they need before they come to me! The problem is usually that they experience difficulty getting it back out of that brain, structuring it right for that important essay or assignment etc, and then putting it onto paper. So I help with this and that's usually what I'm best at. Then once you have the confidence you can do it yourself without my help!

Beware of tutors who are less experienced, and/or have a full time job and are just tutoring on the side. They are often hard to get hold of and not as experienced or good. I am a professional with 40 years experience.

Tutoring Approach

Available 24/7 and worldwide, often at (very!) short notice. More notice is best, but don't worry even if your deadline is just hours away, I can usually still help.

Examples of services:

• In person / online live tutoring. Usually focused on a particular topic or problem you have been set.

• Commenting - very popular. You send me your work and I send it back to you with my comments for your guidance.

• Outlines - You send me an essay etc problem and I send you back an outline of the points I would cover in an answer for your guidance. Usually only available for established students.

• Actual answers for you to submit as your own: I do NOT do these. They are cheating and if you just copy my work you WILL get caught!

Distance:

• Usually no problem as it's online.

• If in person distance no object. If there is a 25 miles limit mentioned elsewhere on this page, please ignore it! That's just the maximum the computer will display.

Online tutoring:

• I usually use Skype, but any online service will do.

Getting started:

• First get in touch with me via this website.

• Then I press a button on this website to release my details to you.

• Then you can buy my direct contact details from this website (that's how it makes it's money!).

• Then you email me direct (I can't email you until you do this, because this website never gives out your contact details for your privacy).

• Then we can arrange to get started!

Fees:

• Always agreed in advance so you can't go over budget.

• Individual standalone lessons £50 per hour or part.

• Discounted to £35 per hour or part for block bookings of 5 or more hour sessions (£175): so you get 5 hours for the price of 3.5, which effectively means you get the first 1.5 hours free.

• Travel & expenses charged extra if it's in person, but that's not very often nowadays as it's almost always online.

• Preparation time is charged for but there's not usually much if any of that.

• So most students most of the time just pay the hourly rate and no more.

• Fee indications are just estimates I will supply you with a real estimate for your needs on request.

• Fees payable strictly in advance by paypal before work commences.

• Cancellations / noshows charged in full except where an individual appointment is agreed bona fide and then cancelled at least 7 days in advance, when a full refund will be made.
