Great start so far. John was very clear in explaining the maths to my son. Friendly and relaxed teacher who made him feel comfortable asking questions. Would definitely recommend John.

John helped my son Cammy with the build up to his Nat 5 maths exam. He is passionate about maths and my son found his teaching methods clarified a lot of things for him. After his exam, Cammy told me that he certainly would not have been so confident had it not been for the help and advice provided by John over the previous 2-3 months.

Sadly is was too far for him to travel so we had to find a Tutor in Perth

It was a pleasure to work in the office offered by Linda. I was prepared to travel to Perth but the parents of the student (Not Linda) were unwilling to pay my traveling for the 50 mile round trip. I asked £20 for this.

Even after a few sessions, my daughter has become much more confident in maths. John is able to use different teaching strategies to help her understand the subject and she is learning to apply what she has learned in problem solving questions.

I am very glad to hear this. We take it step at a time and "many a mickle macks a muckle" so they say, And I want to say thanks to you and my other students and parents for the Tea and Coffee. This helps us tutors think better for our explanations!

Have not so far abandoned students before May!

Travelled with my Friends and a member of the band to the Philippines for Xmas. We were away for just over 3 weeks. Played in a bar in El Nido Palawan. Busked in Manila.
I have also done two talks about my PhD in a Philippine University and have visited a High school and taught a maths lesson! I wish to work in a school in my summer non-working weeks.

I was offered a job in a private school that was about 25 miles away from my house. It sounded like a great opportunity for teaching, but I was offered 32 pounds for one and a half hours teaching and it would have been 80 minutes travelling on (40 mins each way) plus the time packing my car and preparation time on top of that. I would have earned less than minimum wage overall. It was unfortunate. Travelling costs and travelling time are the bain of the private tutor.

Really pleased that we found John as not only is he able to help Rachel with her 3 Sciences, he is able to help her with French & Maths too. She seems to like his style of teaching and that he explains things in such a way that she has more of an understanding. It's early days yet but hopefully her grades will be good.

I feel its unfair to rate, as we called him in very last minute and under pressur, it was very late on in my daughters prep for exams, John seemed to relate easily and explain things well. Time keeping was an issue, but to be fair he never let us down.

On the info site the address used was 6 miles away approx but after speaking to the tutor he in fact lives further away and should probably amend his location details
