I am a qualified engineer and teacher and have been teaching/tutoring Maths and Science for over 15 years. I am married with one child. I have lots of experience tutoring students from all local grammar schools, comprehensives and independent schools. I am all about students maximising their potential. Over the years I have taught students of all levels. Many have gone onto study at Russell Group Universities and many have just wanted to achieve grades in maths and science that will help them in their careers. Over 90% of my students achieved A or A* or levels 7,8 or 9 in maths and science. However, some of the students I am most proud of are those who have found maths and science difficult and still manage to achieve a C grade.
I have taught in two different secondary schools in Kent and also at a college. I have tutored privately for over 15 years in Maths and Science. I have tutored all awarding bodies-AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I tutor IGCSE Maths, IGCSE Physics and IGCSE Chemistry from Edexcel and Cambridge. I also tutor AS Mathematics and A2 Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Normally I tutor at the students's home. Once students gets to know me they start to relax during our sessions and not worry about getting something wrong. I am pleased when students make a mistake as it can be corrected there and then and the mistakes not repeated in future exams.
I tutor one to one and also small groups and many parents find this option to be more economical. I also tutor online. During the lockdown period because of the coronavirus I switched to online tutoring only. I have been using Zoom and a whiteboard and it has worked very well.
I am working with local students in their homes again but have to charge extra if the distance is greater than 2 miles from my home.
