I am an Associate Professor in Sociology at a UK University, within a sociology programme cluster that scored 100% satisfaction for all three of its degrees in last year's NSS. I am a module leader for a number of modules on those programmes, across the topics of diversity, sustainability and crime. I am passionate about my subject, and about supporting students on their learning journey. I have years of experience teaching in the field of sociology, across all levels, and have always received exceptional student feedback. Whilst I have advanced subject knowledge, and exceptional teaching skills, I would like to think that empathy with your learning needs is my key strength
I have advised on A Level sociology curricula, and currently contribute to A-Level sociology teaching via my video materials provided within the Massolit platform. I have also taught extensively on health care programmes, and in particular nursing. I have extensive experience in Higher Education, as a Head of Subject, Programme Leader and Module Leader. I have extensive understanding of students' learning needs, from A levels to Masters levels.
My approach is student-centred. I believe passionately about putting the student's learning needs and strengths at the heart of my teaching and learning strategies. Starting with the student's own understanding of their needs and strengths, and bringing my own experience and expertise in to support these, provides the best context for success.
