I am Digital Learning Lead and Head of Year at a highly successful independent secondary school. I'm currently teaching 11-18, and have been for the last 13 years. I'm an enthusiastic teacher of Chemistry and Biology (to GCSE). I know the impact that 1:1 tutoring can have on the progress of those preparing for their exams. I also have an MEd and working with a local university about educational research.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 13 years across all ages at secondary school. I would consider myself to be enthusiastic, engaging, and supportive. I have a range of techniques to help people revise and have experience of working with a range of learners. For those interested in GCSE tutoring I have taught Edexcel IGCSE and Edexcel GCSE in both Chemistry and Biology. As a current Head of Year, I fully understand the pressures and challenges that GCSEs can bring onto you. For those interested in A-Level tutoring, my teaching experience is in OCR. However, I have tutored those on other courses, such as AQA. I am very happy to help with IB Chemistry too. I have also marked A-Level papers at both AS and A-Level for OCR so have a good understanding of exam focused feedback and advice. I hope that my experience and supportive nature will help you succeed in either Chemistry or Biology.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring will be based down to the individual. To start with I will find out about how you like to learn and what your goals are from me being your tutor. Whether it be help with homework tasks, revision guidance or exam preparation. We can then build a plan of action with you in mind so you get the most from your tutoring experience. I have access to a range of resources to help with your needs.

I am happy to offer pre A-Level sessions over the summer.
