I am a qualified and experienced teacher and tutor of over twenty years standing. I have taught both GCSE and A level at Collingham College, an independent, selective college in Kensington and Chelsea. I have also taught English and Psychology at, "St Edward's College". This has been listed as one of the, "...best of the best" schools in the country and has received two consecutive 'fully outstanding' reports from Ofsted. I am a tutor with a regular set of clients who have been very pleased with my work. I have also been fortunate enough to receive an excellent education myself and through this I have been able to achieve the highest-level grades throughout my own studies and a 'fully outstanding' award for my professional 'Teacher training'. I am fully aware of how important communication with both parents and students is in order to ensure that all our mutual goals are met and the students’ potential is fully fulfilled.
I have published nine academic examination books and the Psychology examination textbook has reached No 1 in the Teacher Assessment category of the Amazon charts and my English GCSE examination book has also reached the top of the Secondary School Test Guides and Secondary Education categories. The books have therefore, most importantly, been able to help thousands of students with their examinations. I have also created and been able to sell premium resources in Psychology, Sociology and English for the Times Educational Supplement.
I am grateful to those who hire me to help them succeed.
Tuition experience: September 2010 to ongoing: Many successful tuition arrangements of differing time periods; including the provision of complete A level homeschooling for students in Psychology, English Literature, Sociology and Religious Studies over the course of 1 to 2 years. I have also written UCAS references for my students and provided essential advice as to how to shape the personal statement. This has resulted in many successful University applications to Russell Group Universities.
Teaching Experience: Over the last 20 years, I have been a Head of Psychology at GCSE, AS and A2 level and I have also taught English at all levels up to university level and Drama and Sociology at both AS and A2 levels.
Schools and Colleges I have worked with are:
Collingham College, an independent, selective college in Kensington and Chelsea.
St Paul’s Catholic College, Surrey.
Lea Valley High School, Enfield, London.
Broadgreen International School, Liverpool.
Our Lady’s Convent School, Hackney, London.
St Edward’s College, West Derby, Liverpool.
St Hilda’s College, Liverpool.
September 2003 to June 2004. Teacher Training Year. Post Graduate Certificate in Education; all grade 1's. Liverpool Hope University College. The University of Liverpool accredited. English and Drama focused.
I work intently with students to meet their goals and the students do very well. I am committed and passionate as regards my subjects and with enabling my students to both enjoy their studies and realise their potential. I ensure the students are engaged with their goals and my subject knowledge provides me with an assuredness in the quality of my teaching. My tuition students have attained places to read and study at Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College, London and other Russell Group Universities. The students have done very well in their examinations and one Psychology student even obtained full marks in her A2 Psychology examination and another obtained 97% in her Edexcel English Literature A level paper.
I am able to ensure the students achieve what they are fully capable of; through thorough examination preparation and through due care for the students’ independent learning needs. I have also taught and tutored at all levels of Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, 'A' level and University Undergraduate levels.
I truly enjoy helping students to achieve their goals!
