I am a qualified teacher and am currently teaching A level Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics at an independent secondary school. I also have experience of teaching both GCSE and A level Mathematics at state secondary (upper) schools, Sixth Form and FE Colleges and personal tuition. In addition to this, I have been an Examiner for Edexcel A level examinations.
I am an experienced teacher who has been teaching for more than 18 years with over 6 years providing personal tuition. I have experience teaching to the following GCSE and A level exam specifications: Edexcel, AQA, OCR and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Although Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Statistics are my main subjects, in the past I have taught GCSE Physics and I taught A level Spanish for two years.
I believe that students learn in various ways and I try to eliminate much of the anxiety that is associated with learning by creating an environment where students feel comfortable in asking questions. My sessions are very interactive and I often link mathematical theory/concepts with "the real world" so that students can appreciate the value of Mathematics that exists all around them. As the old saying goes... 'seeing is believing', so whenever possible, I try to show where theory exists outside of a textbook.
