I am a Biology Teacher, retired from a local Grammar School. I'm a Biology enthusiast and love helping students understand osmosis, the chemistry of respiration and photosynthesis, how the heart works and all biology topics especially at A level.
I also enjoy helping pupils with 11+ preparation and have an increasing number of satisfied customers. I am considered patient and approachable.
I am giving FACE to FACE tuition, but can still provide distance learning, via Facetime or similar, if preferred.
I have limited availability at present, but I am taking on students NOW for October when I have places free.
I taught Science and Biology, up to A level, for thirty years, and have several years experience marking exam papers for Biology A level.
I have been successfully helping pupils with Eleven Plus preparation for some years.
My teaching approach varies depending on the needs of the individual, but includes exploring a topic with the student; using simple explanations, analogies and schematic diagrams; targeted questioning to challenge and ensure detailed understanding; card sort activities and word games; and use of past papers.
