Julie has been wonderful - she is prompt to communicate, has a wonderful manner with children, and her years of teaching experience clearly show within even minutes of talking to her. Julie is an excellent tutor!

We are a Hong Kong family and my younger son, Caleb does not have fully confidence to communicate with people by using English. During the first lesson, I noticed that Julie is so understandable, so considerable that using simple English to let him understand what she's saying and teaching. I can hear laughing sound from them when they are in the lesson. After a few lessons now, I found that he can communicate with Julie with more confidence and also did very well on his learning. Besides, Julie is a very pleasant person and of course a professional tutor , she can teach my boy under a more relaxation atmosphere and make him more comfortable to learn English. I absolutely highly recommend Julie to anyone who needs excellent tutor!

My son was just at the start of year 6 and had really turned off, on education. He’d had a dreadful year 5 with a teacher he disliked and she him. We as parents were very worried as we new he could do better, but he just disliked everything about learning. When his new teacher described him as having ‘no work ethic’, we knew we had to try to get his spark back. Julie has turned this completely around. She has steadily built his confidence and self worth. Within 3 months he received 2 head teacher awards for his improvement in his work. He now has the confidence to put his hand up in class and does mental maths just for the fun of it. He is now back enjoying school and his teachers. I highly recommend her warm style and her finding and then filling the gaps needed. He enjoys going too which is a bonus. If there is anything he is stuck on or unsure about at school, he knows he can get to the bottom of it with true understanding with Julie. I was looking for 1-2-1 tutor with a teaching background and Julie doesn’t disappoint. She is an excellent tutor who takes the time to get to know your child, so that the lessons are tailored to suit their needs. My daughter is learning more than what she already knows in both English and Maths in a very short space of time and is developing the additional skills learnt from Julie. My daughter finds her lessons both enjoyable and engaging. We will definitely continue with the lessons. Thank you

Our son did not want to go to a tutor but somehow Julie has found a way to engage him. She expects high standards and uses her professional experience as a teacher to inspire and motivate rather than just teaching exam practice in a rote fashion. We are really pleased we found her.

Our daughter has been going to Julie for a couple of months and has connected very well. We focused the tutoring on Maths and it is clear that our daughter has benefitted from the one-to-one tuition. Julie is flexible in her approach and is happy to accomodate specific areas that needs working and/or follow our daughter's school's method of teaching certain disciplines.

After some thought we have decided on a different tutor. We would like to get started asap, so although we understand your circumstance we still have had no contact with you so have had to make alternative arrangements.

My son went to Julie for tuition in preparation for his 11+ tears as well as common entrance for independent schools. Julie assessed him in first few lessons and tailored the subsequent lessons as per his needs. He progressed appropriately . He has been offered places in three independent schools and has attained good rank in grammar school.

Excellent, quality teaching. Julie has engaged with my daughter establishing a rapport quickly . Moreover in just a few short lessons she has increased my daughter's confidence to such an extent that she wants to and feels she can achieve. Julie's feedback after lessons is focussed, detailed and realistic. She outlines planning for next lessons and is able to identify areas of weakness and why very quickly . She has certainly taken the stress of out of 11 plus preparation for me as a parent and I value her advise .

I have tried contacting Julie from the time I got the details released from First Tutors after paying their fee but have NOT yet had any response from the tutor. I left several voice messages and texts but not no response to date (29th Dec 2013). I required a tutor urgently to coach my son for his entrance exam next month and not having any response is not reflecting good on the tutor or the source I received the details from. I'm disappointed by not receiving any communication !

Julie makes Rebecca feel very comfortable and is able to draw her out and make her work .You are very easy to get along with and your vast teaching experience is seen in the way to teach . I am sure Rebecca will truly improve in confidence and ability as we continue our sessions together

We only had two lessons with her as she was promoted and could not continue tutoring. We were completely satisfied with her lessons.

Julie - You are absolutely first-rate. A fantastic tutor! Duante is so much more confident in class when answering questions and has moved up a group since coming to you. Even though its just an hour every week, it has made all the difference in the world and is just what he needed. He looks forward to the 1 hour session and I know he enjoys them. Thank you :)

We used Julie briefly to help our daughter prepare to take two 11+ entrance exams. Our daughter's confidence in tackling exam questions increased, and she enjoyed her sessions with Julie. We wait to see how well she has performed in the exams. Thanks for your help.

We met Julie on two occasions I think and I have to say excellent tutor definitely knows her stuff but a tad over booked. Gutted that Julie cannot teach my son by hey no we keep looking I guess.

I think she was good teacher Bar one exception having only sine her once a big time communication break down and I feel outer pocket of £25 for the lesson then £15 administration fee plus the cab fees because on her site she said she does home visits and then finding out on the day she doesn’t do home visits because first tutors put it up wrong so no I’m not happy

Having recently met Julie, my first impression was total satisfaction. Lovely tutor who has caught my daughter's attention on the first meeting. My daughter enjoys the time she spends with her and is learning and picking up much quicker than I thought. She benefits from the one on one coaching with the tutor. She looks forward to meeting Julie. Having met other tutors and tuition centres, I wasn't overly impressed with what they were offering and this tutor was my answer!

I would recommend Julie for sure as she is excellent and I'm sure that my daughter will excel in class at school now and I walk away feeling confident with what she has taught. Julie is very informative, honest and a tutor who knows what they are talking about! Something that most parents would expect for their child.

Julie is an excellent, friendly and helpful teacher. She gave our daughter intensive tuition which helped her pass two 7+ entrance exams with only a short period of preparation time. I would highly reccommend her to anyone who is preparing for 7+ entrance exams. Our daughter enjoyed studying with her.

Good teacher that helped me for my speaking IELTS test. I did only one lesson with her but she was prepared to test my level of speaking even if she isn't an IELTS teacher.
The only problem was the payment, she accepted only cash and for a foreign student like me it was a problem and she didn't accept payment with credit card.

Julie brought out the best in our son, it was only shame that he had her for such a short time. or the time he was with her he seemed reinvigorated and wanting to learn.

Our 9-year-old was struggling with Maths at school and had absolutely no confidence in her ability. She has now been studying with Julie once a week for 3 months and her approach to Maths has completely changed, Julie begins with a thorough assessment and then works through various topics . Julie is very clear, patient, and most of all, enthusiastic and positive. This means that our daughter is able to feel as though she is really making progress - which she clearly is. Julie has been superb in helping build confidence and self-belief.

In our opinion, Julie is proving to be a positive and encouraging influence on Alice. The work that they have completed together is helping Alice a great deal with her confidence in Maths. She is actually enjoying the sessions and that's very much due to Julie's approach.

Julie is a fantastic tutor. We were hesitant to find a tutor using a website, but have been so pleased that we did. When Julie assessed our 10-year old son, she confirmed that he was very capable, but was lacking confidence in his schoolwork, mainly with his literacy. We just wanted him to have more confidence prior to starting year 7 at a new school. Julie worked with him on a weekly basis (1 hour a week) and we were amazed how she managed to connect with him, to get him to understand tha he was indeed capable to do literacy and not to give up after just looking at the task. He would come home with a big smile on his face, which was lovely for us parents, but even more so or our son, who managed to reach his goals at the end of year 6. He is definitely more confident now and has had a great start in year 7 at his new school. I truly believe this is due to Julie's help. Would highly recommend her for tutoring of any primary school age.

I am very pleased with Julies approach to our specific problem. We have only had 2 sessions so far but my daughter has aready improved quite dramatically, she has given my daughter a strategy to deal with her writing issue but more importantly the belief too.
