I am a friendly energetic teacher who wants to share my knowledge experience and passion of health and social care. I have 30 years experience of working in the NHS,Private and Educational sectors. I hold General Nursing and Learning Disabilty Nursing qualifications and have recently worked as a Health Visitor and have a BSc (hons) in Community Public Health .
I have an extremely broad career experience and skill set having worked a trauma nurse/care home nurse/theatre scrub nurse /nurse in charge at Eating Disorders clinic / manager Learning disabilities and nurse Advisor at NHS Direct.
I have taught at a Further Education College / school and an outstanding Academy for 11 to 19 year olds.

I have taught Health and Social Care at NVQ level,GCSE and BTEC Diplomas Level 2 and 3 , Access to Nursing and been a module leader. I have also taught mature students on the access to nursing course.
I have experience as a 6th form tutor and assisting students in completing Ucas references.

Tutoring Approach

I am friendly , patient and totally student centred and favour the carrot over stick appproach to teaching.I believe everyone is capable of achieving to their fullest potential and I aim high and have a positive attitude.I understand how difficult studying can be whilst juggling a busy life and commitments so believe that approaching study in bite size chunks and problem solving along the way makes study enjoyable and achievable. I have been given positive comments and believe that my vocational experience will help you put Health and Social Care be it GCSE or A levels into context and I am keen to enable students to progress onto the next stage of thier academic or professional life with many ex students progressing on to health professions.
