Yim Man, was an excellent tutor. Guided me through the basics of cantonese and helped me write and learn a part of my wedding speech to deliver to my wife's cantonese family. She was incredibly encouraging and helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Karen has been an amazing tutor. As a British born Chinese growing up, I have tried to not lose my Cantonese (speaking) But as I grew older I was using it less and less so I decided to find a tutor that would help me go back to remembering the basics and improve my speaking (confidently) publicly.

Not only Karen helps me feel confident in speaking, she also tailors the curriculum to match how you would like to learn too. Either by watching movie/tv shows or going through the school academic way. Which I opted for as I find learning that way suits me. All of her lessons have been very helpful and there is always a pop quiz/recap from previous lessons as well as some improvised quizzes to keep you on your toes.

Karen also teaches Mandarin, but from my experience so far I will definitely recommend Karen if anyone wants to learn or improve their Cantonese.

Karen is a wonderful and supportive tutor. She clearly has a lot of experience tailoring her classes to fit the needs of her students. Learning Cantonese can seem like a daunting task for those without any prior knowledge, but Karen somehow manages to pack a lot of relevant information into her classes in a way that is easy to take in while keeping the sessions fun and engaging.

I think having an experienced tutor is especially important for students learning Cantonese or Mandarin as books and online material cannot give you vital feedback on spoken pronunciation. Karen does an amazing job at explaining the subtle differences between different tones and sounds in Cantonese. She finds the perfect balance between offering support and encouragement and giving extra focus to areas that need improvement to ensure that you are progressing in your language goals.

She has a very pedagogical approach to teaching and it is clear from her classes that she has put a lot of time and attention into planning her lessons and delivering high-quality teaching aids. She gives really clear explanations that make it easier to understand the grammar and meaning behind certain words and phrases and uses effective methods for helping you to remember different words and pronunciations.

Karen is a very warm and friendly person and she clearly cares a lot about helping her students learn Chinese, I can 100% recommend her classes!
