Karen's Feedback

My daughter has been going to Karen throughout S4 for support with English. She is dyslexic and low in confidence around her ability to write in long form. Karen has made a massive impact on her confidence and approach to English. She did wel in her prelim and is approaching her exam with more confidence than I could ever have expected.

I asked my daughter what she felt she had gained while going to Karen. She said

-techniques for doing the work
-loads of resources
-suggesting and getting her comfortable using a scribe

It has also been a massive help that Karen is so friendly and lovely and made the whole experience a really positive one.

I would thoroughly recommend Karen. She has worked well and inspired my daughter in her N5, and has understood and worked well with her ASN needs. And even better, S can't wait to go to sessions with Karen!

Karen has made such a difference to my daughter’s understanding and enthusiasm for GCSE English literature and language. As Karen teaches in the Scottish education system she has gone over and above what I would have expected for a tutor; spending a lot of her own personal time researching the specific exam board specifications, annotating poetry and other relevant texts. Hopefully this will reap positive rewards for my daughter when the exams come in the next couple of months. Would highly recommend Karen.

Karen has helped my son feel confident in Higher English. He leaves lessons feeling happy and positive. He has recently achieved a great grade in his prelim. She is doing a fantastic job with him and I'd highly recommend her as a tutor.

My 16 year son is working with Karen currently and although initially reluctant to get help with Higher English, he’s really seeing the benefits and enjoys his sessions. Karen is knowledgeable, patient and clearly knows how to tailor learning to individual students. Ms is an excellent English teacher, she is very patient and approachable, her teaching skills are exceptional and my daughter really enjoys every lesson with her.

Karen has been teaching my son for the last month so far and she has been very thoughtful and dedicated as well as highly professional. My son is very happy with her, finds it easy to understand the concepts and to progress with the task with her help. Besides, she has spotted his learning difficulties and has made very useful recommendations to us in order to get help in place in school for my son. I highly recommend her!

Karen has been a fantastic tutor for my son. She has worked extremely hard to build his ability and confidence in English. She has a lovely, open manner and his really brought the best out in him.
